Vinci, Italy (+ Pisa)

On our way home from Tuscany in April, we were pretty close to Vinci, the birthplace of Leonardo da Vinci, so we stopped there and walked around for a bit.  There is a museum area with beautiful grounds that we walked around.  In the photo above, college students are getting ready for some kind of cosplay by some of the Leonardo statues/exhibits.  In the pic below, you can see more of the olive groves in the backyard, and the Leonardo display.

Poppies growing out of a stone wall.
Menu outside a Vinci cafe.

Sign marking the house Leonardo was born in.  Below is the house.

Local honey for sale at a roadside stand by Vinci's house; we bought some and it's delicious!  We got chestnut and sunflower.
There were beautiful trees in bloom everywhere.
Pisa doesn't seem to have much to offer except the tower and the surrounding buildings, so we did the touristy thing and took some pics of the tower.  We tried to get ice cream across the street from the square, and they were so rude to us; I've since visited Tripadvisor and we're not the only ones.  So, don't go to this place.  :)  You're welcome.
