We have a little over a month left here, and I do plan to post more about the Azores in that time, but for my 1000th post, I thought I'd do a little tribute to the island we've lived on for the past 6 years and what we love about it. I already get homesick thinking about flying away from here for the last time, and maybe never coming back. I'll miss so many things, and here are some of them, in pictures. (I'm posting a LOT of pictures! Some of them have made it on the blog before, but not most of them.)

My 1,000th Post- Farewell to the Azores
We have a little over a month left here, and I do plan to post more about the Azores in that time, but for my 1000th post, I thought I'd do a little tribute to the island we've lived on for the past 6 years and what we love about it. Beautiful and I understand why it will be hard to leave.
What a gorgeous spot! I do not believe I have ever seen a photo of your kitchen before!
I'm just smiling, seeing all these pictures. It's such an enchanted place! Ryanair really needs to get in gear and fly in there so we can go back for a visit. Thanks for posting!
Thanks, everyone. Sarah, I'd love if Ryanair flew here. Debbie, I tried so long to find curtains for my kitchen windows, but after looking locally and then ordering some online that didn't work, I just left it bare. Then our first Christmas, I strung up red and white Christmas lights and that red garland. When Christmas was over, I went to remove it, but the window looked so naked and sad that I left it... and it's been there ever since!! They are 4th of July lights, Valentine's lights, etc. Lol. The lights finally stopped working right after this last Christmas, though.
I love the lights! They look very festive.
All your beautiful pictures make me miss our little island... *sigh*.
What a beautiful place!
